Creator code
Jump to a section
In short
A discount code issued to one creator for their audience, which also credits that creator with the sale and usually their commission.
What it means
A creator code is a discount code tied to one creator. Their followers get the discount, and the order is credited to the creator through the code instead of a tracked click. Because the code is credited on the order itself, it works where links don't: a podcast, a video read aloud, a switch of device. Networks can credit on the code alone. Awin's Voucher Attribution gives an exclusive code's commission to the publisher you assign, even when another publisher spreads it.[Awin Help Center (developers), Apr 2026] (opens the source)
On your store
A creator posts a reel with the code MAYA. Her followers use it, the order shows her code, and your affiliate platform pays her commission.
Why it matters
A creator code that reaches voucher sites and extensions keeps giving the discount, and paying the creator, on orders from people who never saw her. impact.com's promo code FAQ says purchases driven by other partners using an assigned code become invalid conversions, reversed so no partner is paid.[impact.com Help Center, Oct 2026] (opens the source)
What Benson does
The free code check shows which of your codes extensions and voucher sites hold. Attribution integrity flags orders where an extension's affiliate click landed after another referrer.
