What Cently does on your store

Cently pops up at your cart or checkout and, with one click, tries the codes CouponFollow holds for your store. CouponFollow earns affiliate commission on its codes and links, and passes some back as cash back.

In short

Where does it get your codes?

Cently is CouponFollow's checkout extension: it applies coupon codes, offers cash back and checks Amazon for a cheaper identical listing.[CouponFollow, Oct 2026] (opens the source) CouponFollow started by ranking codes people shared on Twitter and Facebook, and today mixes exclusive codes from brand partners with codes users submit.[CouponFollow, Oct 2026] (opens the source) Shoppers can submit codes from the extension with a 'Share a Code' button, and CouponFollow's team reviews them and posts them for other users.[CouponFollow Help, Mar 2022] (opens the source)

CouponFollow says it works with more than 5,000 merchant partners, trading exclusive codes for exposure in its newsletter, extension and site.[CouponFollow, Oct 2026] (opens the source)

How does it make money from your orders?

CouponFollow earns affiliate commission when shoppers use its codes or links, and some retailers also pay it a fee for bringing them traffic.[CouponFollow, Oct 2026] (opens the source) Its cash back is US-only, paid through PayPal, and the rate moves when merchants change the commission they pay.[CouponFollow, Apr 2025] (opens the source) If it's in your affiliate program, an order where it applied a code can be credited to it under last-click attribution, whoever actually sent the shopper.

What does it do in a shopper's session?

A 2022 help article says Cently pops up automatically at the cart or checkout, and one click on 'Save Money' starts it trying codes.[CouponFollow Help, Apr 2022] (opens the source) On stores where it offers only cash back, it pops up as soon as the shopper arrives.[CouponFollow Help, Apr 2022] (opens the source)

CouponFollow says Cently runs on Chrome and Edge, with no Firefox or Safari version.[CouponFollow Help, Mar 2022] (opens the source) Its Chrome Web Store listing showed 100,000 users in October 2026.[Chrome Web Store, Oct 2026] (opens the source)

What does it cost you?

Every order where it applies a code gives away the discount, and the shopper was usually already at your checkout with a full basket. If it's in your affiliate program, the same order can also pay it commission under last-click attribution, on top of the discount, whoever actually brought the shopper.

So the cost is the discount plus any commission on orders that would have happened anyway, and the codes it spreads keep working until you replace them.

What Benson does about it

  • Sees Cently sessions on your storefront, and measures their conversion rate, order value and discount depth against everyone else's.
  • Hides Cently's pop-up on your storefront pages, by rules you set.
  • Checkout Policies: in sessions where a coupon extension was seen, only the codes on your allowlist work at Shopify checkout.
  • Attribution integrity: flags orders where an extension's affiliate click landed after the shopper arrived from someone else.
