Where does it get your codes?
SimplyCodes says headless browsers simulate real checkout flows across its merchant network every day, with AI agents that navigate like a human, on Shopify, Magento and WooCommerce stores.[SimplyCodes, Oct 2026] (opens the source) It says those agents handle bot detection and CAPTCHAs.[SimplyCodes, Oct 2026] (opens the source) Those test runs reach your checkout separately from any shopper running the extension.
Shoppers earn tokens for submitting codes, and rewards any time they add, test or use one.[SimplyCodes, Oct 2026] (opens the source) In a September 2021 blog post SimplyCodes invited members to get paid for sharing single-use codes that stores had emailed to individual customers.[SimplyCodes, Sep 2021] (opens the source) Its current submit page asks for public codes only and tells members to check with the merchant when in doubt.[SimplyCodes, Oct 2026] (opens the source)
How does it make money from your orders?
SimplyCodes says it's supported by affiliate partnerships with retailers, and lists codes for stores whether or not it receives a commission.[SimplyCodes, Oct 2026] (opens the source) It passes part of its commission to shoppers as tokens on qualifying purchases, at 100 tokens to the dollar, which US users can cash out to PayPal from $10.[SimplyCodes, Oct 2026] (opens the source) It says stores can't pay for ranking or badges: the only thing a store pays it is commission on a completed sale.[SimplyCodes, Jul 2026] (opens the source) If it's in your affiliate program, an order after its click can be credited to it under last-click attribution, whoever actually sent the shopper.
What does it do in a shopper's session?
SimplyCodes says the extension activates when the shopper reaches checkout, tests the available codes in the background and finds the best one.[SimplyCodes, Oct 2026] (opens the source) Its help centre says rewards only track when the shopper clicks a code before checkout, which is the click that credits SimplyCodes.[SimplyCodes, Oct 2026] (opens the source)
What does it cost you?
Every order where it applies a code gives away the discount, and the shopper was usually already at your checkout with a full basket. If it's in your affiliate program, the same order can also pay it commission under last-click attribution, on top of the discount, whoever actually brought the shopper.
So the cost is the discount plus any commission on orders that would have happened anyway, and the codes it spreads keep working until you replace them.

What Benson does about it
- Benson's detector doesn't recognise SimplyCodes yet. The code check and attribution integrity still cover what it does to your codes and commission.
- Attribution integrity: flags orders where an extension's affiliate click landed after the shopper arrived from someone else.
